amai Wish cosplay
Amai Wish Cosplay is a body-positive cosplayer and cosmaker from London, Ontario.
She enjoys judging competitions, encouraging others to cosplay, and using her charisma and talents to help others in her community.
She has competed successfully throughout her cosplay career placing 1st in the group division at Forest City Comicon in 2014, 2015, and 2nd 2018. She started to Judge cosplay contests starting in 2015 at Free Comic Book Day at the London Central Library every year thereafter and has been invited as a judge to CKExpo in 2016, and London Comicon in 2016, and 2017.
She invests much of her time in presenting panels and volunteering at conventions across Ontario. She started hosting panels and events for young children interested in geek culture such as Comic Book Art 101, and Manga art 101 at her local libraries and charity organizations around London and area.
The different panels she has hosted are as followed: Cosplay 101, Cosplay on a Budget, Body Positive Cosplay, Steven Universe Cosplay Q&A, Wig Crafting 101, Lolita 101, Jfashion 101, The History of Jfashion, Makeup and Artistry for Cosplay.
Currently, she has worked with different cosplay groups, for example, The Legion of Doom, to raise funds for local charities in London and Ontario such as “Cosplay for a Cure”, “The Boys and Girls Club of London”, “Big Brothers and Sisters of Chatham-Kent”, and “Autism Speaks”. Amai Wish Cosplay’s passion is to help others realize the beauty in themselves and to celebrate themselves through cosplay. She is an advocate for the body-positive movement and strives to help others realize their passions.
